CAN THIS BE A BAD TIMING BELT?
i gots a 200 ford focus SE….
transmission and engine works great… with 102,000 miles, is a good deal for a car for 2000dollars
butwhat makes this car feel soo crappy is the idle anddriving.
it shakes constantly, for example, like a fone vibrating. when putting on “drive” it shakes less, but on neutral or parking it shakes more.
sometimes whenever on a freeway i want to get more acceleration but the car looses alot of power. “even if i press the gas all theway to the bottom”
sometimes it dont change gear…. but the transmission is fine. it dont slams to no gear. it feel smooth when it changes.
they say it could be a timing belt problem but i really dont know.
i just want this car to run great.
Uhhh, its hard to say. It could be the transmittion. If the timing belt has been replaced and its vibration like that, and feels like a class II vibration, it could have a balancing shaft not correctly timed on the belt, but if it runs fine at certain speeds, its not going to be the belt. It sounds like you have a problem child on your hands. Good luck on that…
