Can you restore a sony laptop without a restore disk?
I restored a Gateway lap top by popping in a Vista oem disk.
The computer did not accept the disk and then began a recovery procedure that did exactly what i was hopping for (a machine that ran like it was new).
Will the Sony do the same thing as the Gateway laptop?
At start up, when the VAIO logo appears on the computer’s screen, tap the F10 key and the VAIO Recovery Wizard appears. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Or
When the VAIO screen is displayed, press the F8 key.
At the Advanced Boot Options screen, ensure Repair Your Computer is selected and press the ENTER key.
In the System Recovery Options window, under Select a keyboard layout: , click the Next button.
Under To access recovery options , next to User name: , click the down arrow , and click to select an account with Administrator rights.
Next to Password: , type the appropriate password for this account.
Click the OK button.
Under Choose a recovery tool , click to select the desired option: 3.

3.Windows Complete PC Restore
4.Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool
5.Command Prompt
6.VAIO Recovery Center
